This tunic definitely has the length to be a "can be worn with leggings" top - but we also love the shape of the top itself: the pintucking gives a nice tailored shape at the bodice and the tie in the back allows for even more flattering definition to your shape at the waist - the rest of the blouse skims over what (for many women) can be their problem areas: stomach and/or their hips/rear.
It can also be quite difficult to find 100% cotton tunics in larger sizes - I don't think we need to tell you how synthetic clothing seams to rule the day :(
NOTES ABOUT FIT
As touched on above: the upper portion of this top is meant to be tailored and the tie back allows for a bit of flexibility based on how tight you tie it. Personally, I'm quite short-waisted so I just cut the ties off of a mine with a nail scissor because I liked fullness of the tunic on it's own.
